We supported more than 5,000 farmers in applying Water Smart Agriculture practices.

More than 500 young people participated in formal education programs, technical training, and internships.

We strengthen local institutions for the protection of natural resources and the restoration of agricultural landscapes.

EIGHT YEARS OF SOWING

AND HARVESTING

Eight years ago, we planted a simple yet powerful idea: that the land can heal if those who work it have the tools, knowledge, and support they need. Since then, RAÍCES has grown into a restoration movement that brings together people, communities, and territories around a common purpose: to regenerate agricultural landscapes and transform rural life.

Through a network of local promoters, we have supported over 5,000 farmers in adopting practices that protect soil and water, lower production costs, and strengthen resilience to climate change. With every transformed plot, we also sow hope.

We believe in rural youth as a vital force for the future. That’s why more than 100 young people are now earning income through agriculture and environmental restoration activities, and over 500 have joined technical training, leadership, and entrepreneurship programs. Investing in them is ensuring that the harvest goes on.

We know that lasting change begins at the local level. That’s why we work alongside community organizations in participatory territorial management processes, helping them identify and address the challenges affecting their natural resources and collective well-being.

Today, we celebrate eight years of continuous sowing. And every result—every fertile soil, every strengthened community, every young person who chooses to learn and grow—is a clear sign that together, we are sowing and harvesting the future.

WE GROW

COMMUNITY

What began in Ahuachapán in 2017 as a commitment to restore soil health has now spread with strength to new territories. Because when the soil is cared for, everything above it flourishes: the crops, the families, the landscapes, and community life.

We are proud to have brought this vision to Sonsonate, Santa Ana, and La Libertad, weaving together a network of farmers who believe in a different kind of agriculture—one that protects, regenerates, and yields sustainable fruits.

Each new area we reach, each agroecological practice that takes root, is a seed anchored in fertile ground. And today, as we close this chapter, we do so knowing that the roots remain alive and deep, ready to keep bearing fruit in the hands of those who call the land their home and their hope.

STORIES
OF SUCCESS

BEYOND

AGRICULTURE

Though our work was sown in the soil, the true fruit of RAÍCES has always been the people. What began with good agricultural practices grew into something greater—transforming communities, opening new paths for young people, and uniting efforts for the common good.

Hundreds of young people joined with enthusiasm, bringing fresh ideas, new dreams, and the energy to build something different. In RAÍCES, they found not only a space to learn, but to grow, to lead, and to feel part of a greater transformation.

At the same time, we wove networks to protect what sustains us: nature, soil, and water. Because we came to understand that protecting the land also means protecting families, future generations, and the hope that rises when communities come together.

Today, as we look back, we know our seeds were more than agricultural. They were social, environmental, and deeply human. Because where roots grow strong, life continues.

TERRITORIAL MANAGEMENT

EVERYTHING IS INTERCONNECTED

Humanity faces not two separate crises, one environmental and one social, but a single and complex socio-environmental crisis.

The pathways to solutions require a comprehensive approach to combat poverty, to restore dignity to the excluded, and simultaneously to care for nature.
